The Barack Obama campaign made a statement Monday as the Democratic Party's tallies of signatures to get presidential candidates on the ballot in New Jersey showed Obama smothering the Hillary Clinton campaign, by almost 2,000 votes.
Each presidential candidate needed at least 1,000 signatures to get on the Feb. 5th New Jersey primary ballot, according to the state Division of Elections.
Here are the numbers of submitted signatures: Obama, 5,380; Clinton, 3,458; John Edwards, 1,958; Joe Biden, 1,018; Bill Richardson, 1,305; and Dennis Kucinich, 1,052.
Among the missing were Democratic presidential candidates Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut and former Sen. Mike Gravel of Alaska.

Signiatures don't mean much
The press wants a horse race but there really won't be one, Hillary by a substantial margin. Cities won't come out for ANYBODY in snow....
Keep dreaming.
Sigantures don't mean anything?
Tell that to Nick Sacco or any other legitimate political heavyweight who makes a statement with the number of petitions they submit!
Clinton is toast!
All the fakers, phonies and political frauds will be exposed when Hillary gets her clock cleaned in New Jersey.
All the insiders sipping wine in some private meeting with the candidate don't control a single vote. That will be very obvious for all to see.
Perfect example will be in District 37 where the Democratic turnout will outnumber the rest of Bergen County which will bode well for an impressive Obama landlside.
Huge Happy Hats
The NJ For Obama people are wearing huge happy hats this week.
Instead of running against two other candidates, Hillary is now poised to run against five (barring possible petition challenges).
Apparently Obama supporters helped gather the Biden and Richardson signatures, they may have even helped out with the Kucinich signatures too.
The presence of the other ('2nd tier') candidates on the ballot (Biden, Edwards, Kucinich, and Richardson) will take away from Hillary's vote total and end up benefiting Obama.
